River Transportation
The River Gambia has historically been an important waterway for transportation in West Africa, especially in countries like,The Gambia and parts of Senegal and Guinea. It spans approximately 1,130 kilometers (700 miles) from its source in the Fouta Djallon Highlands of Guinea to its mouth at the Atlantic Ocean.
The river serves as a major transportation route, making it easier to move agricultural goods such as grains, fruits, and vegetables between inland farms and coastal areas, especially in The Gambia. This boosts trade and access to markets.
The Project Circle River transportation project aims at transforming the river Gambia as transportation hub from Denton Bridge to Koina along the river and north to south across the river Gambia (Bridge) (ie) from Badibou Salikeya to Tankular Kaing and so on.
The River For Agricultural Purposes
This Project Circle project aims at utilising the river to fully boost the countrie’s Agricultural sector. With this the river tributes that run at the sides would be dredge back to land, dead tribute would be brought to life for agricultural purposes.
The river’s floodplain provides fertile soils due to the periodic flooding. These floods deposit nutrient-rich silt on the land, which improves soil fertility and supports agriculture, especially in areas near the riverbanks.

Fishing for Change
The Project Circle Fisheries Project aims at fully utilising the countries fisheries resources, its is of our concern that the countries fisheries sector is mainly dominated by foreign fishing trolwers as well as fishing boats from neighboring countries.
The Gambia’s territorial waters extend 12 nautical miles (22.2 km) from the coast, in line with international maritime law.The country’s Exclusive Economic Zone extends 200 nautical miles (370.4 km) from the baseline, granting the Gambia the right to explore and exploit the marine resources within this area.
This project will be fully controlled by Gambians serving as a form of employment creation for the youths interested in fishing .
